HEALTHCARE EXCLUSIONARY LISTS PLUS

Healthcare Exclusionary Lists Plus (H.E.L.P.) is to look up the healthcare sanction history of both individuals and entities. Possible types of sanctions include exclusions, termination of license, probation and debarments. H.E.L.P. reports on more than 50 types of healthcare professionals and organizations ranging from physicians to home health agencies and ambulatory services. We have amassed more than 550,000 records from 800 state and federal sources. H.E.L.P. offers these three levels of screening on both individuals as well as organizations.

Three Levels of screening:

H.E.L.P. Level 1
Reports on sanction information from federal agencies. This is in accordance with the Federal Government's minimum requirements for sanction screening as set forth in the OIG's Model Compliance Program Guidance and the Supplemental Guidance from January of this year.

  • HHS/OIG (Health & Human Services/Office of Inspector General) LEIE (List of Excluded Individuals/Etities
  • GSA (General Services Administration) EPLS (Excluded Parties List System)
  • FDA, DEA and Tri-Care

Enforcement of Disciplinary Standards. The OIG places special emphasis on a hospital's duty to enforce disciplinary standards. When assessing internal disciplinary efforts, hospitals are advised to take into account the following factors:

  • Does the hospital uniformly and consistently enforce disciplinary standards?
  • Are employees, contractors, and medical staff checked, at least annually, against government sanctions lists, including the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE) and the General Services Administration's Excluded Parties Listing System?

H.E.L.P. Level 2
Includes Level 1 with the addition of disciplinary action information from multiple agencies in the state of your choice.

H.E.L.P. Level 3
Includes Level 1 with the addition disciplinary action information from multiple agencies in all 50 states. This is the most comprehensive sanctions search method available.
